You might want to have a look at the work of Warren Montag, in particular
"The Soul is the Prison of the Body: Althusser and Foucault 1970-1975" in
Yale French Studies 88, 1995.

Also--something I've been looking at myself recently--Foucault makes a
nicely suggestive reference to Spinoza in his debate with Chomsky. It
occurs on page 136 of the version of the debate contained in Foucault and
His Interlocutors, ed. Arnold Davidson (Chicago, 1997).
