According to Foucault moderation would make the list more productive, so it would produce a lot more of the same, but I think it would be a lot less inventive and inspirational. And I think that it's not a smart move to ask for surveillance as soon as something out of the ordinary happens. The fear for deviance is not something we should cultivate.
