Hey I am sorry but I have been on this list for over a year and I would say
that good conversations or senseless interpersonal banter have been few and
far between. What is wanted and unwanted banter? I am on this list to get
posts from people who if nothing else are interested in foucault in some
nebulous round about way. I find many of the post limited to academic topics
which of course are not discussed in full because, no one has the time to
write term papers like treatises on foucaultian themes in their spare time.
SO if this list can do anything it could provide a common ground for people
with some like minded interests. The short posts about can someone find me
this quote, or can anyone recommend a book are all fine and dandy, but they
should not be the mainstay of this list, -in my opinion- , and that sadly
this is often the case. I prefer "senseless interpersonal banter" or
drivel,. Maybe we could make a second list for those who want senseless
interpersonal banter. That way those of us who want more posts , rather than
less feel like the list is serving some purpose.
