C'mon, Leo, at least you could have afforded Foucault (the authority)
the respect of hyphenating "vulgar" and "Foucaultian." It is hardly
fitting to use language in such a way as to subliminally suggest that F.
and not the reduction itself is "vulgar." The habit of omitting the
hyphen harkens back to the habit of bourgeois scholars of de-hypenating
"vulgar-Marxist" into a form more suitable in the long run for Cold War
anti-"ideology" rhetoric (and incidentally Marxism is not an
ideology--it's a Utopia. To say otherwise abuses unfairly both Marx and
Mannheim).
