I have lost count now of how many lists have received this Taliban
petition.  It is -- how to describe it? -- NOT to be forwarded.
It is not a hoax, exactly (though it may have been posted with
motives other than those most on the surface), but it has not
any possible use or purpose.  It has been circulating the web
like a flying dutchman literally for years, and people who have
supported/forwarded it out of appropriate concern for the fate of
women in Afghanistan have merely perpetuated a pointlessly and
worthlessly circulating phantom.  For some reason it has re-surfaced
in the past month or so and has popped up on lists too numerous to
mention.  The appeal from the earlier senders--please STOP sending
this!
