Ian:
While we are recommending histories, on the E.P Thompson tip, I'd take a
look at his student Peter Linebaugh's The London Hanged- a rollicking good
read! On the Spenglarian side of things, as crazy as he and his ilk can be,
I've been taking a peek at Veblen's work on the leisure class. Strange and
disturbing, and quite Spenglerian at points. A must read in tandem with
Adorno's Prisms essays.
