granted, recognition of repressive forces is the first step toward escaping
their grip, but foucault cannot "know" whether he is a subverter or just
reinforcing what the power structure wishes. using foucault's own theory, is
it not impossible to escape power? one can only redefine one's place within
it. as nihilistic as it may seem, there can be no ultimate escape, however
much one thinks they can subvert or pervert it.
